I'm about to order a Tesla Model Y, and I'll have 2 charging opportunities at home: a J1772 unit at my condo in the city, and a NEMA 14-50 outlet at my cottage. I know both J1772 and 14-50 are easily available, but the question I forgot to ask the Tesla dude when I did a test drive: is there an on-board timer available to set charging times (eg. charge only between 7 pm and 7 am), or will I need to rely on an EVSE to do that? I'd rather not buy an EVSE if I don't need to, seeing as the outlet is already there.
You might want to read the owners manual. YouTube videos show setting the time to start charging from the screen and a departure time. https://insideevs.com/news/404196/tesla-model-y-online-manual/
