Posted InsideEvs article By: Suvrat Kothari General Motors released updated pricing for the Chevrolet Equinox EV today. The automaker confirmed that the Equinox EV 1LT, the base model of the crossover, will start at $34,995. The price is well above GM's earlier promise of a $30,000 base variant, but there's some good news in terms of federal tax credits to offset that. GM indicated that order books will soon open for most models, but the base variant will be available to book later in 2024. It has not specified an exact date for the 1LT's availability. GM expects the Equinox EV 1LT to become the most affordable electric car in the U.S. with over 300 miles of range. Get Fully Charged The Equinox EV can be the most affordable EV with 300+ miles of range. GM's electric vehicle rollout has experienced setbacks due to software glitches and engineering and production challenges. If the Equinox EV lives up to GM's pledges, it can steer the company toward achieving its emissions goals. Here's the MSRP for the rest of the Equinox EV variants, including destination charge, but excluding tax, title, and dealer fees: 1LT FWD starting at $34,995 (available later in 2024) 2LT FWD starting at $43,295 2RS FWD starting at $44,795 3LT FWD starting at $45,295 3RS FWD starting at $46,795 GM Confirms 2024 Chevy Equinox EV To Start At $34,995 (insideevs.com)
Excited to see the equinox coming to market at this price point for the base .. 35K AND eligible for $7500 credit and whatever your state offers. Think about this.. could be the first EV with nearly 320 miles of range for 25K . And it is a nice size a couple steps up fro the Bolt. Thats pretty impressive if GM can pull it off. You would think it should get at least 150kW charging makes it a viable road tripper range and ok charging speed combination.
Looks like the Equinox is almost ready to go. Will fill a big gap in GM's EV line-up between the Blaser EV and the new Bolt which is still a ways out. Good range and decent fast charge times. Could be a winner... https://insideevs.com/news/720117/gm-equinox-affordable-tech-preview/
Same reason Tesla dont have buttons, knobs wiper salks etc.. just to be a pain in th ebackside of it's drivers
starts right about where the euv ended fairly loaded. fully loaded euv, or stripped equinox. crazy how "loaded" small cars are nowadays. supercruise was just cadillac once. now since the euv it's in all GM electrics i know of.
The Equinox isn't exactly small -- it's two feet longer than my Hyundai Kona EV. Edmunds shows that a few California dealers now have it in stock, but none seem to have made it here to Hawaii yet.
I looked at one in St Cloud MN the other day, black on black. I really wanted to like it, been waiting a long time but didnt do anythig for me from the outside. up against the building , dirty , dusty so the black on black did not look very good IMO. looked like dark interior as well... Black has to always be clean/carwashed to look good n outside here in Minnesota most of the year, between, dust , salt soutions on the road, snow , dirty slush etc..
I remember laughing at a comment that went something like "black isn't just a paint color, it's a lifestyle."
Could you see enough of the vehicle to know whether it might appeal to you in another color? I've never been a fan of black cars either (though when I was small, my family had a black '58 T-Bird with a red and white interior that was very cool.
The interior was dark but once started up with the massive scren that would certainly brighten the interior I would probably have to upgrade to higher trim to get a lighter interior seats. (or install lighter seat covers like I did with my ID 4) Dont get me wrong, I think the Equinox is a good looking car(the black on black just did nothing for me and it was dirty I assume from the riding on the semi from Mexico..it didnt look it best dirty. And here in Minnesota it's going to be dirty alot, just as is with any black car ,constantly washing) , I would have to have the Glass roof/sunroof as well. For me I would spend up to a higher trim to get that.
Photos of the Equinox in town, RS I love the 320 miles range but prefer the looks of the Blazer or Lyiq
