  1. ... and us Kona owners are seeing that the oil comes out pitch-black with significant metal loading.

    I see this forum is not too busy but I'm trying to alert owners of Kona, Niro, Soul and original Ioniq owners that you should consider getting a gear reducer oil change as soon as practical, if you haven't already done it. There is a minor design deficiency that can be practically resolved by changing the gear oil after 1,000 km. More detail over on the Kona forum, but trust me, just get it done when convenient, it might save you grief in the long term.

  3. And if your vehicle is new, do the oil change at 1500km or whatever the first free service interval is. Insist on it and pay if you have to. Try to have a magnetic drain plug installed.
