This question has been discussed in a couple of threads (maybe many) in this forum. Statistically speaking, any extended warranty is not a good deal. However, new cars have many expensive parts that can fail out of warranty. Some people (like me) always buy the warranty, but think of it as insurance and hope not to use it. Which statistically speaking wastes money, but if it covers your peace of mind that may have value to you. (It does for me).
