That seems too slow. 18% over 11hrs is only ~4amps when you should be able to get 10A from the L1 charger. You can change the charging rate in the cars settings and I bet it's set to low. As long as there aren't a lot of other high power appliances on the circuit you're charging from, you should be able to increase that to maximum and get ~45% over those 11hrs

What a well thought out reply, very interesting, thank you. I had a chance to buy a blue one at the end of February but I wanted leather seats! At that time time they said factory orders were 3 months, so I decided to order one to my specs. Through a friend-of-a-friend I placed an order with Langley, with 4 months ETA. I think that may be extended to 6 or 7 months. It’s been 2 months since the order but no VIN - I’ll call them next week. I live on Bowen Island, so need to use the ferry often. The Mini is 2.5 feet shorter than my car, so I reckon if every one drove a Mini our ferry would be big enough for many years to come.

  4. I'm not sure, there was a factory shut down of 3 weeks total in Feb/March. I think my MINI finished production just before the 2nd week of closure.

In terms of features, I luckily received all the the ones I ordered
You're right, I played with the settings today and I realized it was set to minimum. I plugged it in again at 6PM with 81% and it said it would complete by 12:02AM so that's significantly faster than the previous setting.

There were many Electric Collections available throughout multiple dealerships in the Province (Nanaimo/Victoria/Kelowna), but a lot of them were either affected by the Harmon Kardon shortage, or had power spoke wheels/multitone roof which are all deal breakers for me.

I spoke to Andrew at Langley extensively. He has an SE himself and was very helpful but his manager didn't want to give me a price for my trade in until the MINI came in so I left.

Hope you get an update on your's soon!

I took delivery of my '23 Moonwalk Grey Sig+ today! This is Buzz!

    PXL_20220520_190048783-01.jpeg

Even though we had all the necessary paperwork squared away beforehand, after the one hour and forty five minute drive to the dealership we waited three hours at the dealer because the NY DMV system was down. UGH. That last three hours of waiting was almost harder than waiting for the car to be built and shipped!

I placed my initial order/deposit on January 19th, so that makes it four months almost to the day from then to delivery. That's not bad considering that included the shutdown to switch from '22s to '23s and the plant shutdown due to Ukraine/supply issues.

This was Mini of Rochester's first '23 SE to come in (so that felt cool, there was a sold '22 Iconic SE sitting in the showroom waiting to be picked up) and I think it might be only the second one on this forum? It did come with the 240V adapter, as was also confirmed by others. I was also delighted to find when we got home that the Sig+ includes the MINI puddle light on the driver's side...I was having a hard time figuring out if that was an Iconic-only thing. It's a fun little feature! I have absolutely no regrets in bumping my order from my initial choice of Sig to the Sig+. The HK sound system is great and the moonroof is lovely.

This is my first MINI and first BEV (we also have a RAV4 Prime)....I had SO MUCH FUN driving it home that I didn't want to stop! I'm hooked! I hadn't been able to test drive an SE before ordering -- had been able to drive a friend's ICE MINI and a neighbor's i3, so I was confident I'd like it, but WOW! Can't wait to drive it again tomorrow. :D

Missing heated steering wheel, that seems to be the only thing.

Your enthusiasm is infectious. It's after 2 AM and instead of going to bed, I feel like going out for a drive!

I had a 1968 Morris Mini Moke and had driven other pre-BMW Minis, but I'd never driven a BMW MINI before ordering my SE in 2019. Twenty months after getting my SE and it still excites me. Today the sun was out, the temperature was high and I had a glorious 90-minute high-speed drive on some curvy country roads with the moonroof and windows open and the h/k off.

Out of pity, this evening my wife and I took our Clarity PHEV to see a play 30 minutes away--what a contrast! The trip included 7 roundabouts, which empasized the handling difference. It's a nice car but it felt like a boat compared to the SE. We've driven it less than 500 miles since getting our SE. Due to our neglect, the brake discs are rusty and make terrible sounds.

What color is the top of Buzz? Do I detect roof rails in your photo? The Rav4 Prime is supposed to be very nice. When you go out to your stable of electrified vehicles, for what drives without passengers will you choose the Rav4 Prime?

Buzz has a black roof and, yes, roof rails! I'll be putting racks (and a canoe) on soon...I'm sure I'll post about it when I do.

We've had the RAV4 Prime for 9 months now and we've really loved it. It will continue to be my spouse's daily commuter (well within its electric range) and we'll choose it for trips to the hardware store/plant nursery where the trunk space is needed and for the 200 mile (one way) trips to the in-laws. Other than that, I have a feeling we're both going to want to throw it around our curvy local roads as much as possible. ;)

As for the enthusiasm - I'm like a kid on Christmas! I couldn't sleep the night before picking it up with excitement and then I couldn't sleep last night thinking about driving it and getting it all set up to my liking today! SEs should have a health hazard warning!

Hey guys! I noticed Buzz has exterior chrome instead of the piano black that at one point seemed to be advertised as standard for this year’s model before dropping off my spec sheet at least. For other folks that have received their ‘23s, did yours come blacked out?

I was going to point that out, but I figured y'all would catch it! I was bummed for about a second when we pulled into the dealer and I saw that, but it's not a huge deal for me.

Piano Black exterior trim is a $350 option (3L2) on all trim levels — including Premier+ (L3/Iconic) — here in Canada.

Yeah when I spec’d mine in March piano black wasn’t even an option bc it was standard which I was excited about. Listed on the build sheet and everything. Then I noticed that fell off the specs on My Garage and the builder had chrome pictured. Kind of lame I couldn’t do piano black even if I wanted to pay for it. Oh well.

In February if i wanted black exterior trim I had to go from plus to iconic, and wouldnt get the beltline.

At the factory the black beltline trim is kept in a large safe, the black beltline trim requisition forms must be signed in triplicate, and the black beltline trim stockroom--a special separate stockroom where the safe is located--is only open once a month. When head designer, Oliver Heilmer, specified the switch from chrome to black trim for the Iconic model, he forgot to sign the third black beltline trim form and now he's stuck in China trying to figure out how to make the Ora Good Cat look more like a MINI Cooper. /s

Is it easy to change the belt line when we get the car?

    Lol!!!

I actually had mine added to the build. The beltline trim is a port installed option so it will be fitted to mine in Port Hueneme before the car is shipped to my dealer. I wonder if your MA would be able to add it to your build for you? It is option code ZWB on mine.

It's apparently very easy to DIY. I'm unsure if it's an option in Canada, but as others have said it's a $675 port-installed option in the US. The trim itself is purchasable for around $600 in the States, so $75 isn't too bad to have it port-installed.

You can maybe find it cheaper across the pond though, even with currency conversions.. Part number is 51135A0B944.

My 2023 Sig is all chrome as wheel, which is inconsistent with what MINI said about the '23's. I was never asked if I wanted to black out the headlights and other parts that was a free option for the '22's let alone the beltline.

Wasnt a free option on the 2022. See my 2022 in my avatar. Wasn't available on the 2022 period.

I was psyched when this on the mini site. Too bad for 2023 it applies only to gas cars, and doesnt include the beltline.

Black out was an free option if you ordered in Fall or Winter of 2021 (for a 2022). It was a check box on the configuration tool on the website. But they were playing around making options (like ACC and HUD) available or taking them away through out the 2022 model year.
