Love your color choices! I chose the same wheels and exterior. Adding black bonnet stripes and debating on more... are those black handles?

Congrats @Norbu72 "Geniuses pick green." - Robert De Niro

Also, glad to see the weather in the Pacific Northwest is living up to its reputation.

When I ordered my SE there was no hint of an option to switch the chrome door handles to black door handles (although I'm happy with my chrome door handles). Reading that the swap is performed at the incoming port was also a surprise--what else can they do there? Can you order black headlight and taillight surrounds, too? What about the chrome strip that separates the greenhouse from the body? What's the limit and what's the cost?

They do a lot of the work like that there. I am getting bonnet stripes and was told they'd be done in port. Though if they get missed the dealer can do it too. I'm still debating on blacking out my Mini though also if it will be vinyl vs extra parts... vinyl should be cheaper.

The only costs I know of are on the Mini shopping site. https://www.shopminiusa.com/HOME
I'd love to know if they are cheaper or not if ordered early. The shop site has bonnet stripes for more than when you order at the beginning ($100 total vs $164)

The black handles are listed as an option on the new Mini SE USA ordering site. But not headlights or taillights.

Sorry, but I'd go with the ship tracking. Pre-thanksgiving should be doable if it's at the port on the 9th. Check out the tracking spreadsheet (sticky thread) to get a good sense of delivery times from port to dealer. Mine seemed to take a few days longer than others. You're almost there.

Yes, I got the black handles. Very happy with them. As others have mentioned in the threads, you can get them through the on-line configurator now. I had to push a little when I ordered back in June and the dealer installed them (it was supposed to be done at the port but that's another story).

Yes, it's been a little wet and my wheel wells and lower body are already covered with leaves! Really having fun with the car though.

I was told they could do it at the port by my rep. Supposedly she put the order in. It didn't happen at the port and I had to wait an extra day for pickup because the dealer needed to order the parts before install. Given that, I suspect the port receiving facility was never asked and it was forgotten until I reminded them at the end. Sad, but that's been my experience at that particular dealership. Thankfully, you can order the handles and similar items from the factory now. Also, I'm sure you saw the recent video by Joe Achilles where he shows off the completely JCW kitted out SE that has all of the customizing options for the SE on it. Not sure how you order any of that stuff though.

Does anyone has issue with Mini Connected app? Mine hasn’t been working almost a week now. The remote function is all disconnected. Very disappointed...

    Congrats Norbu72!
This green & black mix is really appealing. I hesitated a long time with this refreshing green before finaling jumping into the "enigmatic black" side...
I hope you enjoy the ride.
Mine just crossed the panama canal and is expected at Hueneme port by Nov 13th....
Hopefully, we might cross our path by chance from early December.

Thanks so much! You were right. Thanks to inclement weather the ship was delayed.

Supposedly my mini will be ready for delivery 11/18!! After five months of delays I'm still holding my breath.

There was a VERY helpful post on dealership add-ons earlier. Can anyone advise on what they paid for a "document/processing fee"? My mini dealer is under the checkered flag brand and their general website (not the actual mini website) says: A $699 processing fee is charged to aid in your protection and the dealership’s costs in helping to secure things on your behalf. To learn more about processing fees, click on the links below.

This does not include title, registration, or license plate fees. This seems egregious, no?

They are the only mini dealer in the area and have not been super helpful at this point. I foresee them trying to add on all sorts of fees. I am trying to do my research as to what can and can't be negotiated and what a normal asking prices is for paperwork processing.

    Thanks everyone!

The documentation fee will vary across dealerships. I paid $599, which is kinda high...

This Edmunds article touches on what the documentation fee is, and includes a table showing the median fees per state: What New Car Fees Should You Pay? This Autotrader article gives a deeper dive into what this fee is about: Buying a Car: What is a Doc Fee?

    Super helpful, thanks!

I ordered in early June and am FINALLY getting my car Wednesday. I have yet to get an answer from the dealer as to why my timeline is so delayed c/t everyone on the google doc. Fingers crossed its not a lemon!

Some of us waited much longer than you did--especially those of us who expected our SEs to be delivered in March, before the factory's pandemic shutdown. Hoping to get one of the first 2020 models, I placed my deposit 23 weeks before deliveries were scheduled to begin. I waited 50 weeks (and then 2 more weeks to get the fake hood scoop removed)--but I love my 2021 MINI Cooper SE. It's the most fun car I've ever driven.

You'll find your SE was worth the wait. I've read every post in this forum and your fear of receiving a "lemon" seems to be baseless.

So glad for you. That is a long wait, but I doubt you'll be disappointed. Of course I say that waiting on mine but no Mini I've driven has been bad. I think the technology thanks to the i3 helps and truthfully Mini is now rated above Honda in reliability as well now.

My Mini hit the docks on the 12th of this month. My dealer is predicting that it should be available to pick up on the 26th. Very excited.
