I was supposed to get a 21, then there was a problem with the options I picked so I had to come back in for that. (was out of town for 2 weeks) Then they switched to the 22 model, and of course, problem with the options. At least it was about 3k cheaper. I am the first one to get a ev from there.
Now in full geek mode... Here's a screenshot of the Graceful Leader (upon which our Minis allegedly ride) in the Gatun Lock right now...
Exterior body assembly on our car started today, apparently. A bunch of rows, including ours) seem to have disappeared from the famous delivery spreadsheet here. I'm guessing the two things are connected in some as yet unexplained way.
Thank you! To all the folks that said the wait would be worth it: it totally was. Thanks for the encouragement.
@MiniSER In transit to the dealer! Any movement on yours? Can't decide if I want to try for a weekend pickup or wait until Monday... The single charger on my route home is likely to be busier on the weekend as nobody commutes through the mountain pass
Let me help you decide. You'd be DRIVING YOUR MINI ON BOTH SATURDAY AND SUNDAY! Don't you have friends who are so sick of hearing you talk about your impending MINI Cooper SE that you want to take them for a ride on Sunday so they can understand?
I am having a similar problem where I toggle between scheduled and received. It turns out for us there was a microchip shortage. And now there is the panoramic roof, black leather seats, and ambient light shortages. It also seems every time I get but back into “scheduled” I go back the the end of the queue and then I get hit with the next shortage. good luck
Congratulations! I noticed you have the piano black trim, but the spreadsheet says you ordered Signature Plus. Were you able to add the black trim to Signature Plus? I didn't think that was an option. Which tires did you get?
Good eye Newkirk. The dealer installed a blackout option on delivery. What’s amazing is that the MINI arrived at around 1100 and by 1300 it was all installed and ready for pick up. I’m noticing a few other things that are different. I thought the Signature + would come with both USB A and USB C ports. The latter was not provided. I’m throwing in a regular auto USB C charger in there, no problem. Regarding wireless phone charging, I do not believe I have that either. I’ll double check on these things and report back (as well as the stock tires).
The USB-C port is an Iconic only feature, I believe. As is wireless charging. Seems weird nowadays to not provide USB-C, but maybe it's tied in with the wireless charging.
Do most (all?) MINIs making their way to the west coast of the US voyage on Wallenius Wilhelmsen ships? K-Line doesn't go to California, does it? I'm trying to guess which ship our "in the paint shop" MINI might find its way onto in a few days/weeks/hopefully not months. I'm keeping an eye on the Tulane, which is scheduled to stop in Southampton on June 17.
We've been told by AskMini that ours is currently on the Graceful Leader, which is a NYK vessel. It's just made it through the Panama Canal last night and is on its way up the Pacific Coast...delivering to Port Hueneme on/about June 10 according to the NYK Week 19 sailing schedule.
Congrats! Looks great. Just wondering, did yours come with rear parking sensors? If so, did you order it with the Driver Assistance package? Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
