AFAIK, there are no train-tracking programs like the ones for ocean voyages. Even if there were, how would you obtain the identity of the train on which your SE is riding?

The good news is that your SE is on its way and any passenger trains will be sitting on a sidetrack while your SE continues on its journey.

Thanks, insightman. I should have been more clear - it’s on a train to the UK port so I’m wondering how to track it once it does make it on a ship. I saw a thread that had a lot of information but the links have mostly expired.

What’s the best way to find out what ship my MINI will be on as it crosses the Atlantic?

  4. You can find all the links you need in the first thread of this forum, but the tracking thread specifically is here;

Calling Mini to get the name of the ship that's hauling YOUR Mini is super easy, and they always seem happy that you're excited. You'll lose track of the ship for a few days once it gets into the open Atlantic, unless you pay for a satellite subscription (instructions in that post). However, it'll take about 3 days for it to come back up on the US side.

  8. Hi All, I just found this forum and the spreadsheet. I ordered my 2022 Iconic SE on 2/4/2022, still have yet to receive a build number. I'm in Fort Lauderdale Florida if that matters, is it possible that my order is somehow lost or something? At this point after seeing numerous entries that ordered in june and july receiving their orders I'm ready to just cancel my order. Any advice?

I’d be speaking to your dealer at this point

I have to admire delayedgratification for their patience. I try to practice delayed gratification as much as I can, but there's no way I could wait for six months.

  11. Yeah, I'm pretty peeved to be honest. I had chalked it up to the supply chain stuff but it's garbage that people who ordered their's months after me are driving around while mine hasn't even been given a production number. I have just gotten off the phone with my dealer and he was like I have no idea why your order keeps getting passed over. I was all excited to be part of the mini club but now I've soured on the whole thing.

I wonder if lower volume dealers have less allocation on certain models

Honestly the car should have been in your possession for a while now. Someone really screwed up. Sorry :(

Sounds like the dealership really dropped the ball. Would MINI's system automatically "upgrade" the build to a '23 car? If it doesn't, I imagine MINI has been waiting for the dealer to re-spec the car to '23 options.

I would contact miniusa and see if they have any info. they may have sold your car to someone else. Also, check with other dealers to see if there is a cancelled order that is close to what you want. my store put in orders for about 8 cars and I picked one from the litter which saved me a month or so.

Anyone else on the Hestia Leader docking in San Diego 10/5, Long Beach 10/6, and finally for the MINI in Port Hueneme on 10/7? Been a interesting journey following it all and will shortly be forced to decide buy without the tax credit or pass, but I need to drive it first!

Ships have come and gone and my Mini is enjoying it's third week at Southampton. Next ship is 9/25. Hope it feels ready by then, lol.

Where are you located? Are you sure it didn't get on the Don Carlos leaving Southampton today?

My SE arrived at the port on 9/6 and was on the Hestia Leader on 9/8, then it made a side trip to Bremerhaven for a few days.

I'm jealous, lol. I imagine mine is headed towards New York (in MA). Watching the schedule, at least three eligible ships have passed.

luluna, as I said in an earlier post, your Mini got to the docks a day before mine. I thought we would be on the same ship, but mine is now halfway across the Atlantic on the Dorado Leader. Don't know how y
    ours could have missed it.

I was in the same situation as you are. I ordered 2/27 and by May, most everyone at least had production numbers and many had cars in the production process. Sales person kept saying "still waiting for information". I emailed him about once a month and that's all i ever heard.

In May i had discovered the Resolute edition, so i asked if i could change my order. He said yes, since there was no word on my current order. So i went in and configured the new order and the dealer submitted the change in their ordering system. I finally got my production number on 6/27, so it took 5 months just to get a production number.

Your order honestly seems lost. I would first call the dealer, and ask what is going on with your order. After they say some BS like "we dont know" or "still waiting", call 1-866-ASK-MINI. Tell them how long you've been waiting and what the dealer just said. When i made this call after 2 months of waiting, they said only the dealer can get the production number. But they also said i could call MINI back if still no word after another month or two, and MINI could reach out to the dealer to assist me. When you call and tell them how long you've been waiting, i think they would realize something is wrong, and try to help.

We certainly don't want you missing out on being part of the MINI club because of a poor dealer.
