My SE which was on the Grand Cosmo has switched status from "At the Port" to "In Transit" as of this morning. Looks like it is on the way to the dealership in Los Angeles! Perhaps I'll be taking delivery this weekend?

Mine switched from In Transit to At the Dealership within a day. The drive from Oxnard to LA is about an hour, after all. Now awaiting the call from MA.

I wonder who updates status to “At the Dealership” - probably after the carrier delivered the goods yesterday.

Nice. Which dealership are you picking up from if you don't mind sharing? Mine is from Nick Alexander.

Same! Hope their prep doesn’t take too long, but I noticed on their website they have 9 SEs (which should be all spoken for) so I’m betting they’ll have a busy weekend processing them.

I asked my salesman to not prep the car. I want to peel the wrapping off, and I dont want any waxes or other solvents on the car. I asked they do no more than vacuum it. I can torque the lug bolts. I need that extra day for refinancing before a deadline.

  8. CORRECTION: Just checked and my Mini SE is not on the Elektra but is on the Hawaiian Highway due in Brunswick, GA on 6/28. Great news. Yeah!

Just got a text from my MA - my MINI is on a ship now. Guess we skipped a few steps!

I should have said PDI in addition to prep. PDI shouldn’t take more than a few hours, but dealers have a checklist to follow. If there is a backlog of vehicles obviously that would impact the timelines.

Just got a call from my MA that the car arrived! They need a day or two to perform the PDI. Also had to confirm that I didn't want the front license plate holder installed.

I am indeed using it for my commute! Like my prior i3, it has no problem with the round-trip commute in the summer, but come winter I expect it to be dicey. I do 48 miles each way via 460 and will have around 20-25% SoC left when I get home (in current Summer weather).

Luckily I have level 2 charging at work, so even winter won't be an issue. With my i3 I used to plug in level 1 in the winter to get a bit of buffer.

This is exactly how I have been tracking my SE aboard the Hawaiian Highway.

  16. This is random but thanks for whoever is editing the spreadsheet. I'm not an expert in Excel as I should be

Mine is on Sagittarius Leader as well. I've been tracking it using Marine Traffic which has been useless as it crossed the Atlantic but it was great to watch it pass through the Panama Canal yesterday :). I'll start using shipfix as well. Thanks!

Mine is from Alexander Mini too! The service guy there is super cool, they never had issues with me bringing in my current modified Mini.

  21. Mine is about to leave the factory but it looks like I missed a few of you going to California.. :)

I still can’t convince my wife to go without the front plate in CA.

If I lived in CA, I'd make my own, slightly smaller than standard vinyl-wrap style front plate. The legal full-sized ones don't appear to fit the SE's front bumper. The other alternative to drilling is the license-plate holder that uses the tow-hook mount.
