The i3 seat heaters are the warmest of any car I’ve driven. You only need them on for a couple of minutes.

You should be able to dial in each seat heater level 1 through 3 in Bimmercode body domain controller (BDC). I forgot the temp ranges available and am too lazy to check.

    Just a word of caution:
A change like this (to the performance limits of a physical item on the car) could be used as a reason to deny warranty if the heated seats break or if there is some sort of heat damage to the seats (but not warranty to something unrelated)

The engineers may have chosen a lower temp limit because of efficiency but it also could have been because of the wire gauge used, other loads on that circuit, seat material heat resistant, temp limits of this specific seat heater, or other.

I'm inclined to agree with this. Would be nervous about changing limits on anything really. That's why I never tuned my previous cars, didn't want to risk voiding the warranty or causing damage.

I should have elaborated that it was for lowering the heat in response to the previous posts. I think the back and bottom heat temp can be adjusted separately as well.

I highly doubt the engineers would program in a setting that will result in things breaking. Bimmercode tweaks existing settings, I wouldn't worry about it.

Fair enough, it's just the "concept" of pushing an established limit that makes me squirm. I'm weak like that! :D. Engine tuning, for example goes far beyond the manufacturers recommendations, and has a known issue of resulting in failures. I guess it's all about what your risk/benefit tolerance is. The things I do with Bimmercode I consider convenience/cosmetic changes.

And definitely for lowering the heat it's no problem.

    Hi all

Well got the OBDII connector and bought bimmercode but the one thing I wanted it for, to turn off the rear proximity sensors so I can get out of my garage without hearing the racket they make as our garage is very tight. I looked everywhere but could not find the setting. It perused the expert settings but didn't dare touch a thing. Anyone know how to turn the proximity sensors off?

I thought you could do that without Bimmercode if you hit options while in reverse. Or I could have dreamt it.

Options? Where is that exactly? I have not heard of this.

The options button by the back button under the jog dial.

Nope. No option to turn off the beeping.

Dang, you were right. The button that I thought turned off the sound just turns off the visual squares that show where the obstacles are. And in the sound settings you can turn it down but not off.

yes and I could not find it in the bimmercode. it has to be in the expert mode but I can not find the key to all the options.

Maybe I'm not seeing the same options as everyone else, but how do you permanently turn off the forward acoustic passenger warning sound? From what I've read you need to login to the app as a mini first to turn it off and then as an i3 to set the permanent option, but when I login as a mini I don't see an "off" option for the forward acoustic passenger warning sound. What am I missing?

Did you see @drdunkyn's post where he selected "unknown" as the choice for the pedestrian warning sound?

From the BimmerCode documentation, this is what you should be looking for. It's an option to enable the setting. Then you go into the car's settings and there will be a new option to turn off the acoustic pedestrian warning. You can then set this option to be remembered (rather than being on whenever the car is started) through the i3 BimmerCode options as you mentioned

Do you not interact with pedestrians ever? I don’t understand the desire to disable this.

Some SE owners equate the pedestrian warning sound with tinnitus.
