Counting Crossovers -- tracking what's coming and when.

  1. The Bolt doesn't "command seating," really. Plus it's not all-wheel-drive and super short. GM says they will build a crossover on the Bolt platform, so to my mind that's them admitting that the Bolt isn't a CUV.

It has an upright seating position and ride height close to that of other CUVs. And while the exterior is short, the inside volume and room is close to many small CUVs.

Some BBCode works here. HTML does not.

Hmmm, I just tried posting a simple BBCode table, and the actual BBCode tags were displayed instead. :(

Ah, I just found a page at this website which details what BBCode works. Sadly, no table function.

Going off of when you posted this (Oct 26), this places the ETA of the Outlander PHEV at the first week of January. I thought Mitsu said that it's supposed to arrive in December? Don't tell me that what they "really meant" was the last week of December?!

This is disappointing because with the death of the EV Tax Credit and the additional tax burdens I'll be subjected to (thanks GOP!), even the "affordable" Outlander PHEV will be just beyond our reach! I may have to get a gas mobile because we're pressing against the limitations of being a single car family on top of pressing on the limitations of our Volts cargo capacity for trips!

@Scramjett: the EV credit is not dead yet. Senate version of the bill still has it. Call and write your reps and let them know you want to make sure the EV tax rebate remains.

@Cypress: are you sure? Last I heard was that the Senate version of the bill was being voted on as of Friday night/Saturday morning and no one, outside of the GOP caucus and the lobbyists, has a clue what was in it.

Incidentally, calling my Senators would be a waste of time. Harris will likely vote no because she's a somewhat reasonable politician (even if she did shut down the prosecution of Steve "Foreclosure King" Mnuchin) and Feinstein goes out of her way to dodge her voters at every possible turn.

I should clarify that no one has any idea what's in it beyond what was already promised: which is the death of the EV Tax Credit and the Solar Tax Credit. The only thing I know of for sure is that the property tax deduction appears to remain intact (for now).

There was report from electrek that the senate version preserved the ev tax rebate. But will see if it survives reconciliation.

    I’m not optimistic.

On the Rivian website they ar planning to release a pickup and an SUV in 2020.
    https://www.rivian.com/vehicles/
What details they do give makes the SUV sound like a Range Rover competitor.

Well this is off-topic, but I thought I had subscribed to Rivian's e-mail newsletter months ago. Just now, doing a search of my e-mail archive, I found a "confirm your subscription" message that I had not responded to. :( Better late than never, I guess. *sigh*

If Rivian does send me a newsletter, I'll start a Rivian discussion thread and post the text there.

That Subaru and XC40 are maybe promising. The rest don't do it for me. Would love an actual wagon vs these CUV. Probably will be last to the party.

  18. Wagons don't really sell well in the US, but if there was at least one EV longroof, it could find some homes.

  20. Except that this list is all-electrics only. Considered adding PHEVs, but that would make an already large list perhaps too unwieldy.

Ah, didn’t know that. Thanks for the clarification. :)

  22. No problem. I appreciate the effort. :)

  23. Just updated to reflect actual Mercedes-Benz EQC specs.
It has less range and a larger battery, will arrive later than originally anticipated.

We have photos and full specs in its Forum section.
