I posted this on Facebook, but there may not be 100% overlap, so... I came out of Costco the other day and went to my car and was surprised when the door wouldn't open, and what was that box in the back seat doing there and... oh, not my car. So, I stopped back by on my way out to record the anomaly.

  3. Most people just sit and charge all day. I'm pretty busy at work - sometimes don't even have time to eat lunch! Luckily most people have cars with decent range (mostly Teslas, 2 Bolts, an iRex and 2 Volts) and so it's not the same ones parked at the charger all the time. The only car I see charging every single day is the Prius Prime (kindly using a wall outlet, not the Level 2s).

And I may have only a 5-mile commute but that is a 20-minute drive! 45 if I leave at the wrong time, during the school year, or there's an accident somewhere. Such is life in the big city.

I finally saw a Clarity today!!! It was the same color as mine, but I was on a bike - haha. I'm in the Bay Area so have no idea why I haven't seen more despite looking for many weeks now. I see Prius Primes literally every day I commute, boatloads of teslas, usually a bolt and volt, even a Mirai 3 times (okay probably the same one), Pacifica PHEV, etc - tons of EVs/PHEVs just not Clarity's. It boggles the mind. I don't understand why there are so many Prius Primes (except every other car is a prius so maybe it makes sense). At least the Clarity is in my neighborhood so I'll see at least one around and feel less lonely....

If you were driving a grey Clarity on Ontario highway 416 southbound this evening around 6:30 PM, I saw you from the other side of the highway and waved like a crazy man at you! (I may have also scared my wife in the process.) Considering how wide the median is on that highway, I'll forgive you if you didn't notice me... this time. :D

I see Prius Primes, Leafs, Bolts and Teslas all the time (several per day). I've even seen a couple PHEV Ioniqs and Niros. However, I've seen 3 Clarity (Clarities, hmm, what is the plural) on the road. The first was a silver one pulling into the hotel parking lot in Harrisburg, PA as I was walking from my car to check in about a month and a half ago. The second was a week or so ago, a silver one was leaving the parking lot of the library as I was entering (I often go to that library branch to charge). The third was on Friday in Annapolis MD, a green one, and we both did a double take checking out each others cars (I was sitting at a red light as she drove by so the double take was safe for me).

I wonder how long before we get a couple attracted to each other and hook up based on them both owning Clarities?

Just think about it, you know right away the other person has great judgement! :p

Because "Clarity" is a proper noun, I maintain the correct plural "Claritys."

I would agree with this. My argument: "Clarity" is a proper noun, much like a surname. If a surname ends in 'y', it's pluralized by just adding an 's' and not changing it to '-ies'. Historical examples: John F. and Robert F. would probably be annoyed if you called them the Kennedies instead of the Kennedys. :p

I've yet to see another Clarity in the Seattle area where I live, but we finally saw one on the road last week on US 101 near Eureka, California.

I saw a red touring clarity charging at the US Niagara falls parking lot on vacation today. I wanted to take the other ev charging spot next to it but I don't have a chargepoint account.

FINALLY saw a Clarity in the wild here in Oak Park, Illinois! Same solar silver as my own; I pointed it out to my wife and gave the driver a very dorky thumbs up.
Probably overly excited to see a second Clarity, but it was nice!

My real guess was that you found your twin and parked next to it to take this photo rather than you discovering the other Clarity parked next to yours.

It's logical that the first Clarity on the scene would park at the end of the row, leaving as much space as possible between it and the space next to it. After 19 years of parking my aluminum gen 1 Insight while successfully avoiding a door-ding, I recognized the strategic location. Also, it's obviously parked far from the close-to-the-building parking spots most drivers choose. Protecting an aluminum-bodied car promotes healthy walking practices.

Brilliant deduction Sherlock ️‍♂️! Impressive. Now really shock and awe: how many km on mine and what’s my EV range saying? LOL

Yup. That's what I do. Protect the car while avoiding attracting attention for parking like an asshole (ie, some people who take up two spots).
