Cool. So now we have an excellent rating for reliability from CR, a rave review from Alex on Autos, and 3 years of kudus from KBB. I still doubt Honda will stock the Clarity outside of CA. I’m happy I got one when I did!
With the demise of the Volt, there isn’t anything with much available EV range other than the BMWi3REx which is about $15K more and probably not something a prospective Clarity owner would consider. There is a six-figure Karma with a 37 mile range or a Chrysler mini-van with a 32 mile range at the same price point as the Honda. There may be something else in the works. The above is based on an Inside EV’s chart of PHEV’s dated 7/22/19, which shows nothing else with more than 30 miles of range. The 47 mile range and cost were important factors for us. They essentially eliminated all other vehicles.
Same here - glad I got this wonderful car. If gas prices ever double in other states to match that of California, I would be certain the Clarity will sell well outside CA.
