It might be faster than you think. I was #112 in priority, built in January. Received email in early Jan to say that as of Jan. 10th, the car had been shipped from factory. After much research on vessel tracking websites, I managed to figure out it was on a ship that left Ulsan, Korea on Jan 13th and arrived in Vancouver Feb. 5th. They don't necessarily wait until the end of the month to ship. Your car might actually soon be on a ship over, if not already. So my guess is end March early April for your car.

Does the Ioniq 5 has free charging in Canada like the ID4? Thanks

I don't think so. But I can update once I take possession of my car. Maybe others can confirm?

  7. At least we don't have to deal with the ADM like in the States, that kind of helps make up for some (if not all) the charging costs;)

  8. Charging deals are great IF there is a charger near you. The closest Electrify Canada charger is 140kms (90mi) away from me so not much of an incentive.

Funny you mention the ADM. I was at Hyundai this morning test driving an Ioniq 5. I asked the dealer about ADM. He said it was illegal in Canada. I wasn't aware of that.

My I5 has been delivered to Kingston Hyundai. It's now the showroom model. It's locked and signed as Sold.
AWD Preferred LR w Ultimate package. Lucid Blue Pearl.

Sales rep knows I'm out of the country and hope to be back in the next 3 weeks. It's snowing and they wanted to protect it by moving it into the showroom (with my permission). Technically, I still need to do a test drive and finalize negotiations on my trade in (2021 Kona EV). Initial offer was in the right ballpark.

Why trade in a 2021 Kona EV? Two reasons:
    1. It's too small for my upper body height and noisy on the highways. Otherwise a great vehicle.
    2. At the time I bought it, I wasn't aware of the I5. Had I known, I would've waited.

    Cheers,
    Steve

  13. Your timing is perfect, and should receive maximum trade in value due to the shortage of EVs. Look forward to a picture or two when you get back, and of course a review on the AWD I5:)

Not yet! I was told there are delays in the Montreal port where the trains get unloaded and cars transferred on trucks. It is probably sitting there somewhere. I can't imagine it has not made it in the province yet... It has been over 3 weeks since it left Vancouver. I am getting impatient!!!

FINALLY, I got the call. Picking up my Ioniq 5 AWD Preferred w/Ultimate pkg on Friday at 2PM, just in time for the weekend. Time to plan a nice drive.

You must be happy and relieved your new EV jewel is ready for p/u.
Personally I would not have been that patient, and probably camped out at the dealer drooling in anticipation:D

It takes quite some patience for these new EV's. My test of patience started yesterday, I pre-ordered an AWD ultimate.
I'm probably going to drive my wife nuts over the next 8-12 months.

Thank your lucky stars if Hyundai doesn't have a website that pretends to show updated production and shipping status for your Ioniq 5 the way MINI does for the electric MINI Cooper SE.

We who waited many months for the delivery of our SEs wore out the F5 key refreshing that web page over and over. One goofy thing about that site is that when it tells you your car is At the Port, they don't tell you whether it's the port in the UK or the port in the US!

Then there are the websites that track the RORO (roll-on/roll-off) ships that carry the vehicles across the ocean. It becomes a curse if you are able learn on which ship your vehicle is a passenger. You have to pay if you want to track those ships when they aren't close to shore. Refresh, refresh, refresh. Still no change. Oh, the hours wasted!
