Cadillac today announced that the Escalade IQ will be its next electric vehicle. It hasn't shared an image yet, but did say it would be revealed later this year. That the Escalade is going electric isn't a surprise. I myself saw a styling buck of it several years ago at GM's first EV Day. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take pictures. It will be on the Ultium architecture (possibly Ultium 2.0) and it should be similar to the Hummer EV or Silverado EV in terms of battery sizes and power. Range for a big battery version could be above 350 miles. Cadillac has used IQ in its nomenclature for EVs already, though incorporated as a suffix. Here, it stands on its own behind the name, allowing the brand to maintain this very important nameplate going forward into the electric age.
