  1. To be accurate their estimates are not precise. And I wouldn't expect them to be at this point when battery shipments are a bit unpredictable.
Anyway here is the exact text concerning my recall - "Due to the cadence of the parts availability your current estimated date of battery replacement is by the end of March 2022. Please keep checking your VIN in this website periodically for any update. Your dealer may contact you prior to this date, should battery supplies build up sooner".

  4. I took my 2019 Ultimate (late Dec 2018 build date) in for battery check mid November, was told it was then being worked on for battery replacement by the waranty manager and would be notified for next steps and have not heard anything since.

I see by entering in my VIN that the status of my R0183 (11D043) recall has been updated to "Complete"

    What does this mean?

  5. To me it means there's been an error somewhere. Either you need a battery and your recall is "incomplete" or they analyzed the battery and it's okay and does not need replacement. This seems unlikely given your early build date. In short, you need to get this straightened out with your dealer because there will be no battery issued for a file marked "complete".

  6. Called the dealership today - they say the battery has been ordered, and expect it sometime in 2022, that the recall inspection is complete and the battery replacement is warranty work.

Called Hyundai Canada, the rep said something like "I have no information, I will have to speak with the dealership as they're the ones who submitted the information / did the work, I'll have to get back to you." She would not offer any further opinion. No return call today.

  8. Okay. But I'm pretty sure your dealership shouldn't have cleared the recall from your records. The inspection was PART of the recall, sure, but the battery replacement is the remedy. And that's not done yet.

  9. oh i agree, unless this is some stupid "let's mark everything as complete to get Transport Canada off our backs" thing

  10. Got a call first thing this morning from the service manager, who enthusiastically reiterated that the recall is complete, the battery is on order and will 100% be replaced.

Would be interesting to see if anyone else who has had the battery inspection done but the battery not yet replaced can check their Hyundai Canada VIN recall status.

  15. My car has been at the dealership since mid-September (2021 preferred), Bluelink still says my car has no problems and vin check reveals no issues ;)

Got mine done yesterday at Airport Hyundai. They showed me four new batteries on shipping pallets in the service area. What a relief.

  17. Happy to hear a few cars are getting their updated batteries installed, it gives me hope that resolution might be around the corner.

  18. I just noticed that you live a fair distance from London. Was that your original dealership or were you directed there for the battery swap? I ask because, after a long wait, I was forwarded to a distant dealership for my swap. Still waiting...

  19. London was the closest dealership for me that was EV qualified unfortunately.

  21. I have one scheduled charge per day. Frequently lately this happens. Does anyone hazard a guess as to why?

So I have been out of the loop here for a while but I noticed before that there seems to be a big slow down on the battery replacements What's the newest scoop. last time I was at the dealership was about 2 months ago I was on the list. I'm just waiting till who knows when. Is the deadline March 2022.
So my next question is the people who have got a replacement did anyone get the $5.00 a day up to $850.00 I would like to know, that program ran till November 2021. Do You think maybe they're going to bumped that up but I doubt it. Any update would be appreciated. My Kona still runs like a charm 40,000 ks

  23. Some people got the $850. Mine is processed and I'm waiting on it and the battery. The swaps are still being done but I have no sense of the pace. No idea if it's slower. End of March is still their posted intent for replacements. I'd certainly insist your dealer look into the rebate. Who cares about their silly deadlines. Lord knows, they haven't met any of theirs so why should you suffer for that?
