  1. Yes. Interesting to see it. It does make me wonder 2 things: can they manipulate the "RO" date to, in effect, backdate the offer into meaninglessness?
What are the details of TSB 21-C0415-1? Sounds like if you knew those you could DIY the check-up at home if you own a 2020.

  3. A record 8 seperate charging events in a 24 hour period yesterday. I haven't driven since Friday and it completed its scheduled charging that night. My notification history shows upwards of 30 charging events since that full recharge. After 2 1/2 years of ownership I can say that it's very unusual behaviour.

Got my new battery installed today. Noticed charge levels are now set to 100%. Dealer said they were doing three today.

  5. Go for a drive and enjoy, maybe do the Renfrew/Victoria loop as a test run.
That puts us three closer to our battery, lol

  6. Hi, after setting my max charge at 80% back in April and having it checked by the dealership, I finally got the $250 card in August.

And I finally got the call today to set an appointment for my battery replacement. It will be done next Tuesday! Finally!

Can't wait to be back to full charge, especially just before winter! I was planning to call Hyundai Canada for my third complaint tomorrow, but they beat me to it!

Three weeks ago, I made 1,300 km trip (650 km both ways) with 2 stops each way at level 3 chargers and had no issues except that all the charges ended with an error on the chargers but my car was charged at about 80% each time. I assumed it was my car that stopped the process because it is set to a max of 80%.

So keep hoping, they are coming albeit very slowly!

  8. Called in to Hyundai Canada just now

they had updated my ownership address in New Brunswick, having sent in my info when I purchased my 2019 at the start of August.

no actual update on battery recall or insight on the process

agent noted they had the servicing dealer listed as one in Quebec, which I pointed out wasn’t helpful (and that I had listed a local dealership when I sent in the form)

Agent said they’d contact the QC dealership to see if they had / were expecting my battery. And update my servicing dealership to a local one (“where do you get your oil changes done?”)

    Uh huh….

  9. Glad to see somebody's getting them. Just out of curiosity, what's the build date of your car?

I’ve had my battery replaced and still haven’t seen the gift card. My wife bought her car 7 months later than me and she just received an email with a link to get her card. It seems to be a random selection process!

  11. Dropped in to my dealer to see how they are doing with battery recalls. They just started and have one done. I am number 6 on their list, but they are not sure how fast they will be coming in. They figured probably a month or so for mine, maybe less.

Anyway, no rush for me, as I am doing just fine with the 80% max charges at this time. And the longer it takes, the more the$5 per day adds up.

Every else is working fine on my car. So when this battery replacement gets done, will be basically like a new car again.

  13. My dealer has no list, no timetable, no battery swapping equipment and no idea about anything.

  14. Do you have any other dealer options you can go to near where you live? I am lucky as I have about 6 or so in my area. Luckily my local one (10 min drive) has served me well, so no need to go elsewhere. I did not buy it here, but that doesn't matter.

  15. I believe you've just described exactly what the difference is between your experience and mine. You have a critical mass of dealers and are therefore a better target for Hyundai Canada's efforts. My dealership is a isolated dot on the map that's neither here nor there in Corporate's plans.
I don't believe my dealership is particularly awful I just think Hyundai doesn't prioritize them and, God knows, doesn't keep them informed..

Hi, just to let you know that they changed my battery this Thursday Hyundai Longueuil and yesterday I called Hyundai Canada for the $5/day and I just got a confirmation by email from Hunday Canada that they will send the information for my dealer how to give my $5/day (around $440 I guess).

  17. Looks like you're only counting business days. It's 121 days from June 1st to yesterday. 121x 5= $605. Weekends with a crippled car count just as much as business days.

Charged my new battery to 100% with trickle charger and got a GOM of 495km. That’s like the old days!! Before I shut it down to 80% my range was only 425, so my battery must have lost 70km or so total range over 2 1/2 years. I’m at 412 at 85% now, and that way better than the 320 I was getting at 80% before the new battery. Feeling love again for my kona!!

  21. Never lost it:)

  22. I just received a phone call from my contact at the local dealership. She said the "lifting table" had arrived, but that I would have to bring the Kona in to have the battery tested, before they could order a replacement battery. So I have an appointment next week for the test. Does anyone know exactly what this test is all about? Does this imply that only Konas which fail the test will get a replacement battery?
