I'm considering buying a used i3, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how long the life of batteries may be. I know these cars haven't been around all that long, but does anybody have a sense of how long the batteries are good for, or how many years of "average" driving one can expect to get out of an i3 before running into battery issues? Thank you!

In PZEV states (e.g. California) the high-voltage battery has 10 year warranty. I expect most of them to last more than 12 years or more.

The 60ah models show degradation after a few years. Some have dropped below the 70% within warranty period. The 94ah and 120ah models (2017+) show little degradation so far. My 2018 with 26k miles shows negligible degradation so far.

Samsung claimed the 94ah cells are going to last more than 500,000 miles.

It also depends on driver behavior, e.g. not parking in very hot places, using scheduled charging and reducing DC fast charging as much as possible.
