What is the best way to remove the cover? Does it just pop off? Where is the best area to start prying? Going to tackle this tomorrow. I'll make a video so anyone else that wants to do it can see. Thanks again Spazstic

Great video! Should make it easy for other members to do the mod.

So tonight I took my Gentex mirror I originally bought for my 2017 Kia Niro hybrid and repinned the harness as it was pinned for Toyota/Lexus. Because I did not want the homelink powered when the car was not on anyway I jumpered pin one and pin six on the back of the mirror harness. I depinned all but the power from the mirror harness and moved the ground. Using this method allowed for ZERO modifications car side.

Tiny follow up the 12v I leveraged goes dead in Reverse for some reason. For me this isn’t quite a back to the drawing board thing but something to be aware of for sure.

It goes dead in Reverse in order to disable the dimming so that you have maximum brightness when reversing in the dark.
