I'm curious how many others out there are waiting with bated breath for Fiat to bring a version of the 500 EV to the US again. The original 500e is still to-date the most fun I've had driving an EV. I wonder if the 3-door version will come over, or the C? Anyone think the Q1 2024 timeline is realistic?
I had a 2015 500e until I sold it when I got a MINI Cooper SE. It was a cute little car. Interested in the new 500e and what they can do with more modern technology, so I’m looking forward to it.
Count on it--it's engraved in pixels! Of course, the question you need to ask is how many will arrive in Q1 2024. BTW, are you following the Vegan EV Travellers' European journey in a 500e? She posts in the General forum from time-to-time. Her photographs are often stunning (the ones of her charging her Fiat are interesting).
I got mine end of May and have put 2500 km on it in that time. It's a fun car and very different compared to my Mini SE. They are only bringing in as many as they need to offset emission fines
In 2017, Bloomberg reported how the late CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Sergio Marchionne, complained about his company losing money on Fiat EVs: Battery-powered autos have yet to become profitable, with the company losing as much as $20,000 a car on its Fiat 500 subcompact’s electric version, Marchionne said Monday in a speech at a university event in Rovereto, Italy. The new Fiat 500e must still not be a profitable proposition if the company is using these cars only to offset Canadian emission fines.
