    Hi, folks

    I have a 2019 Clarity Fuelcell

last week I tried to connect a cheap Amazon OBD2 scanner (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01G5EA74I?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) to it and see if I can get any diagnostic information out of the car. but it always shows link error no matter what protocol I try.

the scanner can connect to my 2015 Acura RDX without issue and it uses CAN 500k bitrate

I am wondering if anyone here has tried and succeeded to use the OBD port with an third party obd scanner. could you let me know what protocol the vehicle supports?

Wow! You're a rare member of this forum to have a Clarity Fuelcell!

The Clarity PHEV forum is blessed to have @MrFixit, who knows a lot about that model and who provides many answers to we less-technical members. Check out his first post in this thread about reading battery capacity data through the OBDII port. It includes a link to the essential information that may work for you, too. You may have purchased a scanner that doesn't have the capacity to interface with the Clarity.

    Good luck!
