  1. I verified that my dealer had my correct email 3 months ago and spoke to that individual that was submitting the claim, he even showed me the physical claim paperwork and assured me it was happening. That said I am still pretty sure my dealer has somehow managed to mess it up. I am going to speak to them again and also let Hyundai corporate deal with them as well.

  3. I contacted my dealer after I read this note and surprise! A little digging from them uncovered that Hyundai Canada used the cost of gas, used by the loaners they gave me. They reimbursed me for the gas I used. For four months it was easily around $250. I didn't figure out the actual dollars and the pennies, but basically I am fine with that. My only complaint is the lack of communication.

  4. Your saying that Hyundai used your promised $250 to pay for the gas in your loaner car? The loaner car that you only needed because they took your actual car away? And you're fine with that? Wow. I know your profile name is Lars but you might want to change it to Job.

  5. As you mature you will realize that you have to pick you fights carefully or you will go nuts. Depending on the cards you have sometimes it is smarter the 'fold them'.

  6. I'm long past being halfway to dust so I guess, for me, it ain't happening! ;)

  8. OK, I accept that.

  9. Hey folks, does anyone recall Hyundai stating that they were going to reimburse Kona EV customers for an additional $5/day (up to $850) until their battery is swapped out - this o top of the $250 G.C.? I have a recollection of this but can’t find the thread.

    Cheers!

  11. I hadn't seen my status change on the recall page yet for the latest battery check, so I called the dealership to see what the results were.

My battery needs replacing. :( OTOH, I get a new battery in my car.

They haven't indicated I need to stop driving it, or take it to the dealer yet, so I guess all's well for now, except the slight risk it "could" catch fire.

  13. Screenshot_20210928-132001.png Posting here and in the Canadian battery recall thread:

Today is the day we qualify for the full $850 payment for delayed battery replacement!

  14. Resurrecting this thread for a moment to see how many people have recieved the $850 compensation. I have not, despite the paperwork being done in November. Now that my battery replacement has been completed I will be pushing Hyundai and my dealership on the issue.

  15. Did wind up getting that final $845 cash card from Hyundai after having the battery replacement done in November of last year.

Thanks I sent him that....just more excuses so they dint have to pay it.

  19. They're not paying it. Hyundai's paying it. No skin off their nose to do the paperwork.

Oh I know.. I had a major hassle getting the 250 before.
I sent a copy of this again and let him know I didn't forget.

  21. You sound exhausted. It's unfortunate when a dealership doesn't give a crap about helping clients.

  22. Talked to my dealer. He dug around in the online paperwork and confirmed that it was filed in November and is complete and had a work order number. Called Hyundai Customer service and they confirmed that they could see the paperwork and that my battery replacement recall was now closed. So the compensation should be forthcoming. Apparently, despite the fact that this was not mentioned in the notice, the $850 was to be withheld until the replacement was completed. I'm supposed to get a callback today about status. I'm not holding my breath on that but I do have a basis to call again and get this thing moving.

Mine was filed in November and I got the card in the mail late February.
