Amazon gives Rivian order for 100,000 trucks

  1. The benefit of Amazon's earlier investment in Rivian is becoming more clear. The mammoth company just put in an order for 100,000 trucks. Obviously, that's a lot and a pretty big deal for a new company that has yet to begin serial production of anything.

    The news is an integral part of a press release from Amazon in which it pledges to be "net zero carbon by 2040 and 100% renewable energy by 2030."

    I was going to post this also. This will really help Rivian get going.
     
  4. No doubt! This, on top of building a vehicle for Ford, will help with gaining future financing as well.

    will these 100,000 trucks qualify for the $7500 federal rebate? if so, this will be unfortunate for individual consumers, as the federal rebates will tier down earlier.

  6. I don't think so. Pretty sure it just applies to consumer's who file regular individual (non-corporate) tax returns.
