The benefit of Amazon's earlier investment in Rivian is becoming more clear. The mammoth company just put in an order for 100,000 trucks. Obviously, that's a lot and a pretty big deal for a new company that has yet to begin serial production of anything. The news is an integral part of a press release from Amazon in which it pledges to be "net zero carbon by 2040 and 100% renewable energy by 2030."
No doubt! This, on top of building a vehicle for Ford, will help with gaining future financing as well.
will these 100,000 trucks qualify for the $7500 federal rebate? if so, this will be unfortunate for individual consumers, as the federal rebates will tier down earlier.
I don't think so. Pretty sure it just applies to consumer's who file regular individual (non-corporate) tax returns.
