My windshield cracked and when I gave the glass company my VIN they told me it came up as a Honda Civic. Anyone? Is it because it uses the same part?
If the windshield is indeed shared with the Civic, that would be a GOOD thing money wise! If the HONDA part numbers are the same, then it is but according to this site, they are not but exceedingly close. There are; however, a ton of civic models to choose from. The price difference is nearly double! With SafeLite, mine came up as a Civic. I CALLED them to make sure that they had the right vehicle. They made the changes in their system for MY incident. They don't stock the windshield, and had to order it from a local Honda dealer. In MY case, I didn't need to have the camera realigned as it has been working fine since replacement, that they did at my house. I confirmed, multiple times, that it was a Clarity and not a Civic.
Probably not, seems to be a Safelite thing, more than one person has reported it happening when using Safelite. If I remember correctly one Safelite shop still ordered a Civic window even after the owner told them it's a Clarity, so they had to wait another week or whatever it was for them to get the right window in.
