  1. Good details in this video, well worth the time (the best part starts @ 4:55) you can see the 2 spaces open for the xtra 2 modules reserved for the 77.4 kWh pack :

Hyundai Motor Group's E-GMP battery (SK Innovation) in brief:

    • 800 V system (indicatory value)
    • 12 lithium-ion pouch cells per module
    • 2.42 kWh per module and over 200 Wh per cell
we assume that at least initially, all the cells/modules are the same in all versions
    • up to 32 modules per pack (Hyundai Ioniq 5 / Kia EV6 / Genesis GV60)
    • Battery options:
      58 kWh: 24 modules (288 cells)
      72.6 kWh: 30 modules (360 cells)
      77.4 kWh: 32 modules (384 cells)
    • 80% recharge should be possible in 18 minutes at ultra-fast chargers (800 V)
    * there might be other configurations for cells from different suppliers of new/different capacity

  3. Sorry about replying to such an old thread but that was a great video. This battery pack design is very good in the sense that it is very easily repaired or rebuilt in the future. Replacing individual cell packs is very likely and cost effective. For sure can see an aftermarket repair service fixing battery packs for resale.
Very similar to what is happening with Nissan Leafs (Leaves????) in Europe where there seems to be a cottage industry springing up repairing worn packs.
    Very encouraging for the future!

  4. Actually outdated somewhat, this video is a better representation of the later version:

    External cooling c/w heat sink;)
Thanks to @KiwiME for posting this in the Kona EV section, as the new Gen Kona ev should be similar (at least for the cooling characteristics)

I gotta love how the one guy in the older video is slapping the top of the pack with his rings and
    watch on and no gloves.
