I bought a 2018 Touring for 32119+tax title = 34500 on Feb 28th in CT. Seems like I could have gotten 2019 for same or even less if I had waited 2 weeks.

Looks like you are safe. No dealer cash in CT, so you would of paid the same either way.

    Thanks.
It would have been heart breaking to know if there was 6000 incentive next day I bought. In fact I sent inquiry through my office discounts program Life Care and dealer just called me and said 6000 is for CA and Oregon at this point. He said deal I got cannot be matched for 2019 Touring here in CT not even close.

32119 for a Touring is really good. Before this discount, local dealers were only selling them for around $35000 before taxes

Yeah I guess because it was month end but I checked with dealers around in 60 miles area and nobody said they could beat it. Even Curry Honda in MA who is famous for beating deals I spent 2 hours there but he could not. Another dealer said might match by adding few things and charge 500 more but could not get my choice of color in same price.
So far I love this car. Its like a big boy's toy car loaded with features.

Lots of inventory in Florida but no dealer incentives like CA and OR. Also checked used inventory, there is a 2018 base model with 10k miles for just $22,000 (clean carfax too). Looks like the incentives in ZEV states are killing resale value even in non-ZEV states. This particular car came from a NY car auction.

No matter how you slice it.... the Clarity is a great car at a great price. Sure some of us could have got the 2019 instead of the 2018 or maybe got one deal that is better than another but in the end none of us got a bad deal. These cars are sold at a loss by Honda and best to grab one while you can.

Nice “glass half full” take. Who knows, these could end up being rare and valuable like the original insights with the wheel covers.

That's a nice deal. In Chicago, the lowest quote I got for a Touring model was $34,028.

Aside from depreciation, isn't the 2018 and 2019 models essentially the same?

Wow, that price is so good.

Right now my son drives a 09 Accord, I am not motivated to upgrade his car. I drive a Odyssey and we sometimes need a large vehicle. My wife drives a Prius Prime. I am seriously thinking to upgrade the Accord but the insurance would jump a lot as my son just turned 16. Decision decision decision.

My insurance dropped because of all the safety features in the Clarity. I would suggest calling your insurance and getting a quote, you might be surprised!

I agree. Although I bought the base over a year ago, I was able to negotiate down to $32,300 +TTL which was right at the TrueCar average price and was the best I was able to get after negotiating with many dealers.

    That's quite a price drop in a year ... :-(

My insurance for Prius Prime is more than doubled than a 9 year old Accord, no accident claimed for many years for all of us ......

Does the car needs to be registered in CA or OR for the 6K incentive ? This was the case for the previous NE state incentives.

Why not just buy new? Same price for most people in the US after federal tax credit.

Some people have no tax liability, or don't want to wait until 2020 for refund.

  23. I’m in Portland area. Some dealers (like Beaverton Honda) get a lot of inventory compared to other dealers, Clarity isn’t well promoted by Honda and they (BH) advertises at MSRP, so it sits on the lot until they can figure out how to unload it. Beaverton Honda was advertising more than the average number of ‘18s in our area last week, too. Probably costing them a lot of money to have both years’ inventory sitting on the lot. My guess is that you won’t see this kind of deep discounting on 2019s for very long or on many units.
