Yesterday, Elon posted on Twitter that the 1,000,000th Tesla was produced. According to Wiki there were 921,046 Tesla's produced through the 4th quarter of 2019. So there were about 78,954 produced up to around that announcement in Q1. So lets say there were 78,954 produced to March 10, 2020. The 69th day of the year. That's 1,144.26 per day. There are 21 days left in the quarter or 24,029.47 will be produced. That's 102,983 vehicles produced in Q1. Does this seem accurate? There is often something cryptic about Elon's tweets.

    cheers

Your numbers look close enough. This suggests +400,000 cars in 2020 but would (or should) include the Chinese production.

No longer having to shutdown Fremont lines to build Chinese Model 3, the lines should be more efficient. Soon as the German Gigafactory comes online, another boost in productivity. Then a cyber truck plant somewhere in the midwest . . . nothing but fun and games.

It's going to get interesting to see if Tesla can weather the Corona virus outbreak. The Trumpster just shut down most of travel to Europe, the stock market is in a free-fall, and Washington state is stating to go into lock-down.

It looks like they will post a profit this quarter. I believe Elon said in the conference call there would be a seasonal slow down and things should pick up. Really need 4 or more consecutive quarters of profit and get in the S&P 500.
