Anyone know whether the IRS considers any of the EV rebates to be taxable?

Agree with oko, a 1099 in and of itself does not make a W2 worker self employed.

However, as a self employed person, almost off topic, for those who do pay self employment tax, do not include the self employment part of your fed tax payments when checking for $7,500 tax liability. None of the $7,500 comes off the self employment tax side.

Maybe TurboTax is not doing the calculations right because the part about EV tax credit is not functioning yet. Maybe it will go down once that part of TurboTax opens up. Or I will use TaxAct instead.
