EV sales in Canada to end of 3rd qtr

  1. Interesting to see the big jump in May and June when the fed subsidy came into effect. And sales dropped in March/April when the May 1 effective date was announced. After the pent up demand (and inventory) was used up sales dropped again for July, and then started to pick up in Aug. All makes total sense. I suspect the steady increase will continue in the 4th qtr and maybe pick up even further 1st qtr/2020, as more subsidies come into effect with the new govt budgets (eg BC scrap-it program).

    The latest figures in the link are from 2018. Looks like the site doesn't have 2019 stats.

    Ya, if you're in BC, get in quick before the scrap-it money runs out.
     
  4. You're right. Amazing how it seemed to track the events of 2019 that would affect sales.

    As for scrap-it, they always renew it at the beginning of the year, and runs out about 1/2 way through the year.
