After going through some significant puddles in the rain today, my Bolt developed a thumping noise. It thumps at the rotating speed of the tires, so I checked for a tire defect. There is no defect observed when I took a quick check in the rain. I’ll check again later to update my post. Has anyone else had this problem?
Well, it turns out that I picked up a very large bolt or something that punctured the tire. I’ve never had something so large puncturing the tire that it caused it to thump like that! Had it patched and back on the road.
My wife had a somewhat similar situation. I'd be interested in yanking the puncture culprit next time and seeing if it self seals. https://www.chevybolt.org/threads/what-would-you-do-in-this-tire-puncture-situation.33601/#post-516449
