Either somebody just lost a boat load of cars OR their transport overseas.

That looks like an epic fail.

Hope the remaining crew are found safe. 20 of 24 already rescued.

    4,200 vehicles on board.

Elsewhere it's reported that the ship is owned by Hyundai Glovis, which carries cars for automakers Hyundai and Kia as well as others.

Good news! The last four crewmen were rescued.

Now begins the salvage and removal effort.

Unlikely any of cars can be salvaged, I am sure there is a big insurance claim

Perhaps for parts but I suspect these were not EVs ... 'cash for clunkers' comes to mind.

Speculation on my part but I'm wondering if the recent hurricane might have changed the channel and the harbor 'pilot' didn't pick it up. Poor loading may have also contributed to the problem. If they'd off loaded lower decks and the upper decks were full ... well that would also explain why it rolled. Regardless, that wreck is NOT in deep water.

A similar event happened in 2006. 4700 Mazdas on board. Cause was a failure of water pumps in the bilge tanks.

Exit pump worked, entry pump did not. Without sufficient water in the tanks, it floated unevenly the listed to the side. Then passed the point of no return.
