  1. Greater Manchester area in north west England which has ten local council authorities and covers a huge area has just announced that diesel HGV's (trucks) Buses & taxi's will most likely be subject to charges in the up coming clean air zones in towns/cities due to come into effect in 2021.

Buses and lorries in particular will be subject to £100/day penalty emission charges to drive on the roads unless they upgrade their vehicles to cleaner greener vehicles.

I use public transport quite a lot if I have to travel into town and the thought of all electric buses would be fantastic rather than travelling on dirty smelly diesel buses that shake the fillings from your teeth when the bus engine is ticking over:eek:. so if BYD are reading this please get in contact with greater Manchester transport and sell them your electric buses. :D

105 new double decker electric buses to be introduced in the fleet between 2019 and 2020. It’s the plan revealed by the British operator Stagecoach. The investment will be around £56m (34.6m from the company, 21.5 from the government). Enviro400 EV City by ADL – BYD is the electric bus model involved in the project. The zero emission vehicles will run in Greater Manchester aerea. The first buses are expected to go in operation from summer 2019. The new fleet should be fully in place by early 2020.
