Not really SE related, but for the past month or so, browsing the threads here causes Chrome and my phone to freeze up for 5-10 seconds. Then I get constant popups about how Chrome isn't responding. Sometimes closing it fixes the problem, but usually not. Pixel 6a running whatever the latest OS version is. Only happens on this site.
Dang, thanks guys. I've tried with my VPN on and off without any difference. Not sure what else could be causing it.
From time to time there are some sort of bad ads that redirect me from this forum to some other site on Safari on my iPhone but they go away after a short while and it’s back to normal. I haven’t had the browser freeze up yet…
Have you tried another browser to see if it's just a chrome issue? If it is, I'd start with a simple cache clear of the chrome app if you haven't already (from the app info screen in the main phone settings), and if that doesn't work try a force stop and clear data. Not sure if you can fully uninstall chrome on a pixel but that would be the next step then reinstall (or the uninstall all updates button, then update again).
