It’s 108 outside. The car is turned off but cooling fan appears to be running , for 10 minutes and still going. I don’t want to shut garage door since it would prevent ventilation. Car is not being charged. Any concern?
If the temperature in the garage is below 108F, I’d close the door and allow the fan to draw in the cooler air.
I wonder whether a lot of the dead 12 volt batteries reported in this forum are due to functions like that running automatically. To my understanding, for safety, the traction battery is physically disconnected when the car is turned off. Thus, any functions that run after would rely on the 12 volt battery alone. I often hear various sounds coming from my Clarity when it is sitting in my garage many hours after being turned off. I can imagine conditions where a sitting Clarity could easily burn through a 12 volt battery in a short time as many have reported.
