"Low range is easy to forgive when there are so many redeeming qualities." This is the bottom line for me. The SE is in many ways the best car I have ever driven. That the car's advertised range is understated is just the cherry on top.
This just solidifies my choice. I have been a Mazda loyal for the past 6 years and was looking a their EV as a replacement to my current lease that is up next year. My car lady was even texting me recently about it as to try to get me to buy it. I looked up all EV's and found Mini made one. Now that my daughter has her own car I don't have to lug around her hockey gear too often so it gave me the flexibility to go smaller. I thought that Mazda was going to be bigger so that is surprising. Glad I went with Mini.
I too drove a Mazda for over 6 years before getting meMINI. The Mazda was extremely reliable but the electric was not available where I live but I am very happy with the MINI!
I wrote many letters to Honda, begging the company to bring their electric Honda e to the U.S. I'm so lucky all those letters were ignored!
