How perfect does your conventional vehicle need to be to trade in at Tesla? They have a vague question about "Is the car free of major defects?" If it has a leaking water pump, will Tesla take it? What are people's experiences trading in? The vehicle has 109,000 and is 11 years old.

You enter the trade-in vehicle online. There was no vehicle inspection when we drove our 2017 Prius Prime to Nashville. The car will go to a used car auction so don't sweat the small stuff.

    Same here:

Tesla asked for photos of the odometer and views of the car from the outside from 4 angles (all corners). You upload the photos and get an offer. We originally planned for a Chevy Bolt and were low-balled by Chevrolet (for our Prius). Tesla's offer (no questions asked) was 3000 higher without any negotiations.
