The CP pin cover on my EVSE broke the other day. I can see the metal pin and I have the broken plastic cover. Is it possible to glue the plastic cover back on or will it melt when in use?

I found online that the CP Pin ""Control Pilot" is a communication line used to signal charging level between the car and the EVSE, and can be manipulated by vehicle to initiate charging as well as other information.[17] The signal is a 1 kHz square wave at ±12 volts generated by the EVSE to detect the presence of the vehicle, communicate the maximum allowable charging current, and control charging begin/end."

So, will 12 volts melt glue? Could it start a fire or some other unsafe situation for me, the car, the charger, etc?
