  1. Another "New to EVs In General" Question:

While waiting for my AWD -- and examining the local dealer's "demonstrator" -- I was struck by the small physical size of the "Aux" 12 VDC battery.

    Two questions:

    1) Any thoughts, conjecture, experiences, or actual data on how long an ID4 can sit unattended (and not "plugged-in") w/o excessively discharging the Aux battery?

    2) Does keeping the vehicle connected to a L-1 or L-2 AC EVSE also keep the Aux battery charged-up?

Since the main power switch is open when the car is idle then it stands to reason the aux battery is not being charged when the car is sitting. I do not know but doubt the aux battery is charged when the main battery pack is being charged. I keep a small portable jump pack in the car for this very reason.

I believe the 12v battery is constantly being charged by the car’s main battery.
