That features guide indicates there is a Classic trim, but doesn't describe it. Is it referring to a gas-powered MINI Cooper?
ICE are Signature, Sig. Plus, and Iconic too. Trim level names have changed throughout time. There was a classic at one point IIRC. I missed that earlier so not sure what it means. There are a few other tiny things not perfect with this. The pdf linked above is really good and very clear.
Ran across this excerpt from a different version of the Unauthorized Owner's Manual than linked here, or maybe it was an insert. It's a shame dealers aren't providing this kind of quirkiness anymore.
This is the fun stuff I wish they sent to new owners. I've said before over the years I've had some good swag sent to me.
As a new MINI SE owner, I would like to have these labels too. Sadly, I was unsuccessful in finding these online as well, but I did find plenty of companies who will print custom labels by order. That may be the only (but relatively expensive) solution now. (Actually, I am thinking that "Q" must have made reference to these labels as he equipped 007's cars (for use by James Bond).
My hood-scoop eject button could be pushed only once, but the memory of pushing it always makes me smile. (BTW, the hood on the left is now on ebay, but I priced it too high and there are no bidders. The starting bid? $1.00. I assume there would already be hundreds of bidders for the hood on the right.)
What is this circled part (from the iconic trim)? The other is the signature plus. I think it's a mid-range speaker, but AFAIK the HK systems are the same in both packages.
It's the center speaker. It is the same in both Sig+ and Iconic. Looking at pics of both cars for sale online, I don't see differences between the two.
Here's another photo of the speaker enclosure in my Iconic trim 2021 SE, this time from above through the windshield. It shows the speaker having a perforated grill, which looks different from the Sig+ photo, but it may just be the angle from which that photo was taken. I can't say whether this speaker itself is the same one they install in the Sig+ though, and I am no judge of speaker quality anyway. (There is a hint of another speaker at the bottom of the teardrop shaped grill, which might explain the teardrop shape of the grill -- if so, maybe that additional speaker is a difference?) FYI as another data point.
You made me look: at least according to the US ordering site, both the Sig+ and Iconic trims include 12 speaker Harmon Kardon sound systems.
Just imagine how many forms had to be filled out and committees had to be convened to approve a non-circular speaker grille inside a MINI Cooper!
They are all perforated. My current Mini (as of only today) has that and the pics of Sig+ show it too. There is no difference in the HK systems between the two.
The Iconic trim gets you the ultra-premium JCW speaker grills, for an ultra-premium, transparent sound.
With my insight, I can tell that someone with the handle of "polyphonic" would know everything about the sound system.
Hello all. I just found InsideEVsForum. Though I am new you have become a MINI family super quick. So glad I’m here! PS: hope the attached helps someone with their choices. View attachment 2022 Pricing.pdf
