   Herbert has been pursuing cost cuts to ensure VW would have the best chance of surviving the transition to EVs. The labor unions were not happy, and as they have seats on the board of directors, they voted to replace him.

   This piece published yesterday on Automotive News sums up the situation pretty well.
   
   Also, interesting to see all the problems an established automaker can suffer. Newer automakers aren't the only ones with issues.
