Some of the premium models may still be available, this is for the limited first edition Mustang Mach-E https://www.reuters.com/article/us-ford-motor-electric-mustang/ford-says-reservations-are-full-for-electric-mustang-mach-e-idUSKBN1YY1E1 (Reuters) - Ford Motor Co (F.N) said on Monday reservations are full for the first edition of its electric sport utility vehicle, Mustang Mach-E. The No. 2 U.S. automaker unveiled the electric Mustang crossover on Nov. 17, and began taking reservations with a refundable deposit of $500. Ford did not provide details on how many reservations it took, but has said global production in the first 12 months after its launch is limited to 50,000 vehicles. ......... ........ More than 80% of U.S. customers are reserving Mach-E with an extended range battery, while about 55% opted for an all-wheel drive, Ford said. (ford.to/2u0BMOJ) More than 25% of the reservations are from California, with nearly 30% of U.S. customers choosing Mach-E GT, the company said This is from Car and Driver https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a30360756/ford-mustang-mach-e-reservations/ Want to See Ford's Mustang Mach-E? Best Chance Is in California Largest number of those buying the Mach-E First Edition chose Carbonized Gray, and more than one in four buyers are in California. Ford has announced that the limited-run Mustang Mach-E First Edition has officially sold out, and Ford says that more than a quarter of reservations are coming from California. Reservations for the four other Mustang Mach-E variants are still open. More than 80 percent of customers are choosing the extended-range battery, and 30 percent are ordering the higher-performance GT variant.
A little update: apparently Ford now has more than 40,000 reservations for the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E, representing about 83% of the 50,000 unit production capacity for the 2021 model year. Those won't all translate to actual sales, but it's a pretty positive sign.
Again the article says about 4000 are for dealers, so it about 36,000. But here is the funny thing about this system. Your name is sent to a dealer and then you negotiate with the dealer on the price, at which time Ford will return your money directly to you and you pay the dealer. This means, that if it much in demand, dealers can actually divert supplies to their preferred customers and sell it at a premium. Hence this reservation is a little fuzzy But the fact they have so many orders means that they have a good start as compared to the I-Pace or E-tron. As you say it is a positive sign.
Here is a list of Ford dealers without the additional ADM: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/official-list-no-adm-mach-e-ford-dealers.95/
Additional finance help (using Ford Credit) with low rates starting @ 0.9% also rebates up to $2500 (to be confirmed) A bit of homework and e-mailing etc, but purchasing through a dealer offering no ADM in conjunction with additional rebates and low financing could work out to be a really good buy. https://insideevs.com/features/431723/ford-mustang-mach-e-financing-offers/
Ford intends to provide an online portal for purchasing (dedicated dashboard specifically for the Mach-E) therefore eliminating the ADM. https://insideevs.com/news/444131/ford-mustang-mach-e-online-sales/ About time... I wonder how long before other manufactures will do the same.
I put in a reservation for a Premium XR model. I’m not generally a Ford fan, but the Mach-E looks sweet!
Excellent, great to have a Mach-E owner to post on this forum. How long till it arrives? Look forward to your reviews and pictures
Nothing firm yet other than an email confirmation with the basic process. I’ll keep you posted as things progress. I don’t expect to hear back anything until December. 9AA6AB1E-6D10-4378-BF95-92A56A6CB497 by TheLight75 posted Oct 4, 2020 at 6:57 PM
