I finally got my 20 amp 240 outlet installed. I plugged in my duosida 16a lvl 2 charger and set it to begin charging at midnight and charging until full. When I awoke in the morning the clarity was fully charged but the indicator lights on the evse indicated overheat protection. Odd since it fully charged. Thoughts?
I think the newer chargers have a temperature sensor in the plug. Plug overheating is usually caused by a worn or defective outlet. It's cheap and easy to replace it - I would try that first.
I have ZenCar 16 amp charger, which has a Duosida Connector on the end. At home, with 20-amp service, I have had the same thing happen; however, when using it with either my 120-volt adapter or my RV-adapter, I have NEVER had an issue.
