    Hello fellow Clarity Owners,

I am wondering if any of you have looked at the additional cost wheels available for our vehicles? Just wondering what the feedback might be on these and whether or not the design impacts efficiency of the drag reduction design of the standard wheels?

You mean the official Honda Clarity accessory wheels? This is the only one I've been able to find:

It looks less aerodynamic to me (more like a typical alloy wheel) but it certainly looks easier to clean than the stock wheels. Just out of curiosity I searched for aftermarket wheels for the Clarity on The Tire Rack and nothing came up. Has anyone found the specs for the actual rim size/measurements of the stock wheels?

Yep, those are the ones. I noticed them on sale at College Hills Honda and if anyone here has pulled th trigger. You’re undoubtedly right that they would be less aerodynamic...but they do look pretty slick!

They're certainly a lot cheaper than buying one of the original wheels and plastic spoke covers (I'm really disappointed by those plastic spoke covers). That combo costs more than $1100! I'm planning to leave our Nokian snow tires on the original wheels and buy the accessory wheels to use with the original tires.

Does Alloy wheel is not a default for All Clarity Base models ?

Awesome look! Are those the Accord wheels? Any difference in fuel efficiency noticed?

Lastly, planning on tinting to complete the triple black look? :D

  10. Why yes I am planning tint! Mostly for the kids. .

They are accord coupe 16-17 wheels. Would've liked the new 19's but didn't want to buy tires or sacrifice ride.

On mileage, maybe a mile but nothing noticeable. Hard to tell with the temp outside. Easier to clean and look pretty good. A whole set is cheaper than one wheel.

Very cool, and I don't blame you on not wanting to replace the tires. I'd imagine switching out the energy saver defaults would impact driving efficiency. Really like the look! First custom Clarity I've seen here.

I just received an email from the Tire Rack saying they hope to have a Clarity in their shop for measurement of wheel fitment in "a couple of months". At that point, they will be able to list on their web site aftermarket wheels that fit.

  17. I bought these on ebay for a little over $600.

The tricky thing on these is the rear suspension. Minimum 18" wheel and not alot of additional room to go in.

Strange that it's taken Tire Rack so long. Discount Tire Direct has had the Clarity listed as a vehicle in their aftermarket wheel page since at least Feb. of this year.

I really, really like the accessory wheels on our Clarity. Of course there are many other, possibly more attractive, wheels out there, waiting for vendors to measure them against the Clarity's requirements, but having genuine Honda Clarity wheels means a lot to me--I usually keep my cars bone stock. The original wheels are now banished to winter-only service with snow tires.

I like those also. I just need to find them at a discount somewhere! Do the plastic "thingies" on the OEM wheels work ok in ice/snow, or do they get clogged up and throw wheels out of balance?

I didn't notice any snow build-up on the OEM wheels that might cause wheel-balance problems. However, I sure appreciate the quiet OEM tires after listening to the loud, but sure-footed, Nokian Hakkapeliitta snow tires for months. The otherwise quiet Clarity really emphasizes a loud set of tires.

I know the Nokians are outstanding winter tires. I went with the Michelin X-Ice and really appreciate how quiet they are; much quieter than the OEM Energy-Savers. I agree the Clarity (as many Hondas) does emphasize tire noise. I'll get a set of wheels for the X-Ice tires I already have before next winter.
