That is usually where the conversation goes to but the second most concern that unwashed masses ask is are there charging stations all along my trip corridor that are conveniently located. They don’t seem to want to waste time on a trip charging or driving extra time to a charger even though I explain that you can charge while stopping to eat. Then I get a Tesla friend to show them where the super (and slower destination) chargers are and how a Tesla will even plan a route showing charging stops and time needed at each one. Then they ask what if I buy an EV other than a Tesla. Then a Leaf friend and I tell them about Level 2 vs DC fast charging and lower range making long trips doable but requiring more planning and time... and they get into information over load and their eyes glaze over...
We do try to keep it simple at the DEW events so we can educate and promote EVs to the public, but it isn’t easy with the immature and varied infrastructure currently in place.
What is the easiest is when I explain what a PHEV is. Even though only 1 single person in all the events we have sponsored or been invited to had even heard of a PHEV, the light bulb over the head, Aha!, moment happens more with the Clarity than with a
BEV for most people new to EVs. At least in gas guzzling, non-progressive coal country. I’m sure y’all in California, Oregon, and perhaps in some NE states have an easier time.

I was referring to random conversations in the workplace, parking lot etc. But you have a good point, at a show where there are plenty of EV's on display you can probably assume that more than likely they are asking the same questions of EV owners and getting real world testimonials, so it's not as needed to "defend" EV in that situation.

I like the one on the right—better image displaying the car (and it’s the color of mine!) Still would like to get a shirt!

  5. Somehow the graphic I have doesn't look the same. Did you add the text at the printers?

The text is white because I was using black T-shirts. I can change the text to a different color if you like.

  8. Duh.

I think I was a bit slow on that one. IIRC I've already asked the question. We will be getting dark shirts. I'm planning on red since our car is Crimson Pearl, but I'm not sure the colors will match well. Only one way to find out.

    Thanks.

The right image is the front side of the T-shirt. The left image for the back of the T-shirt is @KentuckyKen's car, which he kindly photographed for me so I could have a white rear fender for that image. I wanted to focus on the truncated rear-wheel arch because it drives so many Clarity critics crazy even though it serves a valid aerodynamic purpose that I heartily endorse.

I couldn't find an extra-high res photo of a Crimson Pearl Clarity, but I used the best Crimson photo I could find for this version.

To make it easy to see the lettering, I left the black background in. If you like it and want a PDF w/o the black background, let me know.

  12. Actually I like the black. I also tried to find a higher res pic, but didn't find one any better than that one.

Now to find a place to get it printed. Google to the rescue!

Can you insert this into the back on a black background? BTW, thank you for doing all this.

I'll remove the shadow below the car. Do you want the text I used for the back of the T-shirt or just the photo?

  14. I think just the photo. The text detracts from the skirt which I feel is the focus there and it's already on the front.

Sorry it took me so long. I'm not very good at Photoshop, but I like fiddling with it. An expert could have done this in 5 minutes. I redid the front after finding a higher-res 3/4 photo while looking for a higher res photo of the side. Here's the back using the photo you found. Again, if you don't want the black background, I can take it away very easily. And any other mods you want, I'll try to do.

  16. Ordered a T shirt from Zazzle. I asked for this image on the back and the same text "Clarity Plug-in Hybrid" on the front. Got this in response:

Printers have to worry about lawyers. My local T-shirt printer also told me they were worried about copyright issues, but agreed to print my T-shirt after I assured them I wouldn't be selling it to anyone. Zazzle may print so many T-shirts that they're just going to reject potential copyright conflicts without any serious consideration.

  18. I received a response from a local printer (I asked for quotes from six and received one so far - it is Sunday) for $30 and they've seen the graphics I want. There's hope! After I get more responses I'm going to pick a couple and go talk to them to be sure of what I'm getting.

  19. A strange thing... The place that offered to do it for $30 is right next door to the place we had our tint put on.

  20. I've never had a tee printed so I have no idea if this a good image or not, but I would have liked a better one. For $30 I'm not complaining. I have the feeling the image I ended up with after all my manipulating of the one Insightman provided caused at least some of the degradation. Part of it might have been the way the guy did the black. He picked the background and deleted everything of that color, which included parts of the image.

    This is on the back.

Excuse the waves. I hung it on the wall. I was going to wear it and have my wife take pictures, but she is prepping to teach a Bridge class. When she's prepping I leave her alone.

The Crimson Pearl color looks like it was tough for the printer, but the beautiful features of the Clarity's front end are there. If the printer had turned up the intensity, the finer features might have become blurred. The dot-matrix T-shirt printers can't match the beauty of a screen-printed T-shirt, but the set-up for a screen-printed T-shirt make a one-off cost-prohibitive.
