I've more or less made up my mind to go with an EV once my current car finally becomes intolerable to deal with.

As a step in that direction, I'm toying with the idea of having an outdoor charging station installed (I don't have a garage available.)

In looking into this, I went back and re-read the article about the AmpUP service where you can make your charger available, for a fee, to other EV drivers, and was thinking that might be a neat thing to do, especially since I live fairly close to some heavily trafficked roads.

So I'd be curious to know what the smart folks who post here think about this idea:

    - Install an exterior L2 charger near my driveway, but close-ish to the curb.
    - Ideally one that is weather proof, like the one offered by Electrify America.
    - The cable will ideally be fairly long, 20+ feet I would imagine. (I still need to measure this.)
    - Set up an account on AmpUP as a way to generate a bit of passive income to cover the cost of installation.

Is anyone here hosting their charger on AmpUP? In general how much do you tend to make from an average charging system, or per month?

    Thanks for the insight!
