    Really good green aware site.

    Summary:
-The CO2 from electricity varies depending on where you live.
-Gives the average CO2 from gas, hybrid and electric vehicles in the area
-Gives specific details for your model of car in your area.

Buffalo has advantages, they are using Niagara Falls vs Georgia which is using dirty coal I assume (sorry no such thing as clean coal evil marketing people).
    Georgia (your link)"
    electricity = CO2 per mile = 186g
    Clarity per mile = 201g

    For Buffalo:
    electricity CO2 per mile = 54g!
    Clarity per mile 108g

New York electricity CO2 per mile = 108g
    L.A. electricity CO2 per mile = 94g

    The Rant:
Before anyone gets the impression that CO2 is the only pollutant or
that moving that 3000lb car to the local shop has less of an impact than cycling a 50lb bike or even walking think again. There is a lot of bad math and bad logic out there.

Great source of info. Thanks for the link; it’s on my favorites now.
Just for the record though, our PHEV Clarity is 4,059 lbs not 3,000.

I was not being specific to Clarity, just providing a point of common sense.
For your Trivia the weight being moved is not 4, 059lbs nor is it the weight of the base model.

Riding the bike is good for you and the planet.

My bad then. I took the Weight off a Honda website. Where did I go wrong?

that is one of the places you went wrong. Also no need to pollute this thread, if you want to pm me that is fine.

    Not understanding all your critique.
Curb weight for base is 4,052. Touring is 4,059 (negligible difference). Of course that’s before loading and of course riding a bike is less polluting. But not every one is able to ride a bike. And I agree, environmental impact is much more than CO2 output. But it’s the easiest for the most number of drivers to track and a good place to start.
