I created this thread so anyone in the community can comment on the new Inside Ev's website format.
    Here is my first comment.

I generaly like the new style, but one thing I used a lot that is now gone is the list of manufactures you could chose from at the top of the main page that narowed down the articles to a manufacturer of specific interest, not to mention crashed cars, and other interesting topics. That had always been there and now its gone. I don't think it needs to be on the front page but you should have a link from the front page to the old alphabetic list and continue to keep it up. I know you can search, but two clicks is better than typing a name in a search box.

    Oh, you've redecorated! I don't like it.

For the most part I am really liking it and find the performance better on desktop!

I am having an issue with commenting from my phone, however. I cannot see the full comment box. About 1/5 is always off screen. And I cannot zoom out or move the cursor off screen. This makes it very difficult/impossible to review or edit my comment before posting. I don't know if it's just iOS, the iPhone 6s, or just my phone.

But that's my only issue so far and I think it's fixable... it's fine for now, I rarely comment from my phone anyways. Everything else I think is an improvement over the original design. :)

Also, steven did say responding to someone else in the comments that he likes the 'topic/manufacturer' list at the top also and it will probably be coming back in some capacity soon. Let him know that you want the same!

I'm not yet used to the new format, so I'm finding navigation confusing. But I'm sure I'll get use to that, so that's not really a meaningful complaint.

One thing I really do not like is the "floating" bar at the bottom of the page, which floats up to cover an annoyingly large part of my window whenever I scroll too far down. I absolutely hate it when various things steal so much of computer screen's vertical space! (Is that what it feels like if you're in a tight space and you're claustrophobic?)

EDIT: Oh, I just visited the site again, and I see the height of that floating bar has already been substantially reduced. Thank you, Mr. Web Designer! :)

I'd be perfectly happy with just a "Topic/Manufacturer Tags" link at the bottom of the page. IMHO there's no good reason to clutter up the top of the page with that entire list.

insideEVs.png I am running Windows 10 and Chrome 65 and not happy with the new InsideEVs format.
There is no horizontal bar to scroll to see the picture or text and no option to adjust the width of the right column to make it smaller.

  8. The cut off comment box in iOS is high on the list of things that need to be addressed.

  9. That's odd. Here's a screen shot from my laptop. Also Windows 10 and Chrome.

Is this on a desktop computer or a tablet?

Reducing the general "bloat" would be nice. The large pictures and brief descriptions under each article header aren't necessary. I want to be able to quickly scan the article headings, without scrolling a lot, to see if I'm interested in reading any. Everything beyond those headings is an annoying distraction.

    Thanks for the hard work!

It seems to me that the display requires 1366 pixels wide to see all of it. If you have an older system with a smaller display or prefer to view the article in a smaller window, then it is not possible to see all of the images.
