With the growing critical mass of Clarity owners, I thought a thread about warranty work might be useful so the rest of us can keep an eye out on small problems before they become big ones. Have you returned your car to the dealer for warranty work? If so, what was the problem?

I did at 3 weeks for:

    1. Headlight alignment. They were set too low from factory and were adjusted up. Much better illumination down road now. Didn’t help the wimpy “high” beams much.

    2. Small gap at passenger dash by door jamb where you can’t see it when door is closed. The gap was too big to be covered completely by the rubber molding strip there that’s part of the door gasket. Dealer closed the gap some how and now rubber gasket strip lays over it like it’s supposed to.

    3. The erroneously high HV range we are all getting that just gets worse every time you gas up. Of course I did not expect a fix for this but wanted it on the service order because the ticket I opened with corporate Honda requested it.

    And that’s all folks!
Just 2 very minor issues (besides HV).
I’ve had no other issues. No rattles, noises, or smells from ICE first usage as some have reported. First 700 miles have been quiet, smooth, peppy, and economical. Dash and center screen function flawlessly as do all the Honda Sense, Honda Link, remote conditioning, charging, garage door opener, and phone link. Haven’t yet tried music through a usb or updating Nav. This car is practically perfect.

    1. Blower fan for climate was "ticking" (fan hitting something). Replaced blower fan, no problem since. PHEV, VIN 001347

I too had a blower fan ticking noise. It was present from the beginning (Dec) but I was afraid to take it in because I felt the techs were not familiar enough with the car and would butcher the job. Finally took it in last month. Diagnosed as climate control fan and ordered replacement. Took it back a week later and fan replaced. Shop did excellent job. I think it is sufficiently like an Accord that I was probably over-stressing about new model familiarity.

Emissions error code P26A3 - Electric Water Valve Malfunction.

Shop cleared code in OBD and road tested vehicle for 7 miles. Error hasn't resumed in the past two days so hopefully a one off.

Windshield blades on my base model has annoying clicking sound. It's not the squeaking noise when they scratch the windshield, but more like some screw is loose inside something when you shake it. Not sure if I should bring it back for inspection.

We had to take it to the dealership within a week from the purchase date for blower motor replacement as it was making rattling noice when fan was running.

3 out of 4 windows screeched when rolled up. Took it in a week after we bought it. Since then no issues!

I wanted to revive this old thread to see if anyone else has gotten warranty services that I should look out for (factory warranty expiring in the coming months). I know the AC was a bit concern for many. Thanks,

The A/C condenser is the only warranty repair to my Clarity PHEV. I have one of the first ones sold and my A/C experienced this failure in the car's second year. I didn't keep track of how many other forum members reported the same problem, but there were a few.
