Last night I went on a short trip to CT and had some charging surprises when stopping to use an EVgo & EA chargers. EVgo: This EVgo charger was at a Dunkin Donuts and had a faulty RFID reader, so I thought I’d try to just swipe my CC. Boy... was I surprised to find out that EVgo charges a $5.95 convenience fee for the swipe. Yikes! I cancelled that and used the app on my phone to kick that session off and save the few. EA: My last charge stop was at EA at a Walmart in RI. The charger was limited to 50 kW but I was shocked to see I was only charged $0.15/minute! That was a nice surprise
I use the EA app to find their On the EA app, you can check the prices at different locations. The closest EA charger near me is 15 cents per minute and currently limited to 50kw. EVgo is also marketing their 40kw chargers as 50kw..All my local EVgo chargers are 100 amp.. 100 amp x 400 volt = 40kw
