There was one in the town that I live in last year. I had only owned the car for a few days so I drove by but hadn’t registered. I barely knew how the car worked at that point so I felt like I couldn’t say all that much. Of course this year the closest event is several towns away but I figured I’d give it a shot.

My vote is the one that shows the front end. Highlighting that horrendous rear wheel cover is never good in my book.

We need to provide attendees interested in Honda plug-ins (currently only the Clarity) with a meaningful way to get in touch with Honda and complain about the inability to purchase one outside of California. Who has a good idea or contact info for Honda in this regard? Complaining to their local dealers is a dead end.

I think the general rule is, If Honda wants to talk to you, they will call you (e.g. the fellow who was asked to trade in his traction battery so that Honda could study it).

Otherwise, call Honda corporate, and they will tell you to go to your dealer. Your dealer will tell you it's not an issue for the dealer. If you make a lot of noise, your dealer will possibly connect you with the regional guy. In the unlikely event that the regional guy actually contacts you, he will thank you for your input and interest in Honda products.

If you make a LOT of noise (e.g. write to a president or vice president of Honda America), someone will call you and very kindly explain that although someone at Honda may see your post or letter, the rep who politely called has no ability to relay your input, or to directly connect you to an engineer or management, but will very politely thank you for your concern and recognize your interest in Honda and Honda products.

In a nut shell, Honda may see some of these posts, or someone in a decision or influencing position may see a formal letter or email, or even a post somewhere, but it is highly unlikely that Honda will ever engage you directly in any meaningful conversation. Unless that is, Honda wants to talk to you.

I vote for the front end. Nice. I want one. If I come to the AA event, can I buy one there ;)

Any chance you could go with the front end on the front of the T shirt and the rear (showing the fender spats) of the Clarity on the back of the T shirt? I would buy one of those;)

That's an interesting idea. However, some people hate the fender spat so much they'd probably never wear any T-shirt that displays it. Being insightman, with an Insight that sports full-wheel fender spats, I personally love the form-follows-function design. Remember, our Insights would probably be rated a lousy 41 mpg without the spats.

I'm not in the T-shirt vending business, but I'm going to a T-shirt company tomorrow to see what it will cost (one-sided vs two-sided). I'll probably have them make a half-dozen in time for Drive Electric Week. One easy possibility is for me to provide the graphics files so anyone can engage a local T-shirt company. That would avoid the problem of ordering the correct sizes and pretending to be in the T-shirt vending business. Also, it's probably not appropriate for me to use this forum as a conduit to a commercial enterprise.

The graphic file would be great! I can make my own shirt in the right size and color (dark red of course).

I’m the other person at the Ann Arbor event with a Clarity that is signed up! It’ll be cool to meet another Clarity owner in person.

Great! I plan to attend the AA event, but not as a "presenter" because I can't stay very long. I look forward to meeting you and Insightman.

Looking at signing up for my local event but how on earth do I figure out how many electric miles? I do know how many fuel gallons went in. So deduct about 40 miles per gallon?

That’s seems very reasonable. Go for it. Slightly more if you drive under 75 and slightly less for over but with some local miles that’s a good #. Or punt and use the EPA 42 MPG combined.

I think they're really asking for EV drivers, not thinking about us "half-breeds". I just counted the number of times I've plugged in and multiplied it by 47.

We have 2 events within 20 miles so I signed up for both and no surprise, I am the only Clarity registered. I posted this sign today at the local Kohl's with free charging. My small post it note encourages Clarity owners to sign up. image (7).jpg

  22. Las Vegas, NV. 2 Clarity's so far. I'm a bit concerned because the registration warned about limited space and said to contact them. I did and have received no response.

A member of the FB group made a poster as a large sign to place, but I have decided to print a bunch on 8 1/2 x 11 as handouts. Attached as a PDF file.

I’m signed up for the Lexington KY NDEW event and once again I’ll have the only Clarity there. Hope to sell another one but with none on the dealer’s lot and a long wait at best, it’s going to be a hard sell.

It’s usually all Teslas and Leafs, my Clarity, and one very beautiful 2012 Fisker Karma. That is one gorgeous PHEV automobile. It’s flowing lines make Teslas look like Yugos! I call it the Clarity on steroids. And believe it or not, it’s a 4-door so it doesn’t get hit with the high sports car insurance rates. It has a larger tank and solar cells on the roof (owner says they only add a couple of miles a day at best). And the rear tires are much wider than the fronts. It looks like a thoroughbred from the front and a beast from the rear.
Alas, I’m too old to climb in and out of one in a daily basis (it’s very low to the ground), so I’ll stick with my wonderful Clarity.
